Home ~ Unit 1 ~ Unit 2 ~ Unit 3 ~ Unit 4 ~ Unit 5
Before you register for courses for next quarter, your Freshman Seminar instructor will ask you to prepare a plan of study for your degree completion at Columbus State. Preparing the plan of study and having your instructor review it will help insure that you are heading in the right direction.
Quarter-by-Quarter Plan of Study
Print a copy of the Quarter-by-Quarter Plan of Study to prepare your own plan for degree completion at Columbus State. By developing your own plan of study, you will save yourself valuable time and money by ensuring that the courses you take will:
- Fulfill Columbus State Degree Requirements
- Satisfy the requirements at the school to which you transfer
- Be applicable to the major you have targeted for your career plans
University Parallel Guides
To further assist you, the Columbus State Faculty have developed University Parallel Guides in a Quarter-by-Quarter Format. See UNIT 4.
Time Limit for Degree Requirements
Degree requirements are established at the beginning of each academic year and remain in effect until your graduation. If degree requirements change in this time period, students have the option of completing the requirements in effect at the time they enrolled or to change to a more recent "catalog year." The time limit for a student's "catalog rights" is currently three years. Division Deans have the option of extending this time period.
Degree Audit Report System (DARS)
The Degree Audit Report System (DARS) is maintained by the Records and Registration Office. The report will help you check your progress towards the completion of your degree. DARS provides a written report of all your courses in progress, courses completed, and courses remaining. It also reflects technical and non-technical grade point averages (for technical programs) and the overall grade point average (all programs). Your advisor will help you interpret the report. You should periodically request a Degree Audit Report from the Records and Registration Office. You can also view your DARS from the SITE terminals on campus or through CougarWeb.
